Nasce dall’estro di due amici, fortemente appassionati di roccia di montagne e di destinazioni stravaganti, la rivisitazione in veste contemporanea dell’antica ricetta segreta del 1966.

Profondamente radicato nelle Prealpi Orobiche, alle pendici del Monte Muggio, il Liquorificio Flora dei Monti nasce nel 1966, gettando le basi per futuri progetti ed esperimenti alcolici dedicati all’artigianalità, alla cultura del bere bene e alla sostenibilità delle materie prime e delle energie. Questi stessi valori, dopo tanti anni, continuano a caratterizzare le nostre attuali produzioni.

Una delle nostre ricette più amate è quella del London Dry Gin Prada N’1, tramandata di generazione in generazione. Questo distillato, dai sapori decisi ma morbidi, cattura i profumi e i sapori della Grigna, Grignetta, Monte Muggio, Pizzo dei Tre Signori, Legnone e Legnoncino, immersi nelle acque del Lago di Como.

Nel Giugno 2024 nasce Spiriti delle Montagne e lo fa presentando un gin che sa di territorio sia per le sue etichette differenti, 8 al momento, che rappresentano luoghi tra Lago di Como e Valsassina, sia per la scelta di omaggiare i clienti con un cordino da arrampicata e un moschettone portachiavi, disponibile in 6 colori, della C.A.M.P. azienda leader nel mondo per attrezzature alpinistiche con sede a Premana in Valsassina.

Distillato nella provincia di Lecco, lungo le rive del Fiume Adda, il Gin Prada N’1 rappresenta un’eccellenza della Valsassina. È il primo distillato a ottenere il logo ufficiale “Lago di Como” grazie all’uso di materie prime locali di alta qualità. Tra queste, il Miele di Rododendro dell’Alto Lario, che cresce solo sopra i 1500 metri, e l’acqua pura che sgorga in Alta Valsassina a 1935 metri di altitudine. Il cordino e il moschettone portachiavi C.A.M.P. di Premana Valsassina completano questo prodotto, che si distingue per la sua unicità, sospeso tra lago e montagne.

Il nome del Gin è un omaggio alla splendida meraviglia naturale: la Porta di Prada. Questa imponente struttura ad arco, alta 15 metri, si è formata circa 230 milioni di anni fa attraverso l’erosione. Situata sulla Grigna Settentrionale a un’altitudine di 1650 metri, si erge maestosa a picco sul lago.

Born from the inspiration of two friends, strongly passionate about mountain rock and extravagant destinations, the contemporary revisitation of the ancient secret recipe from 1966.

Deeply rooted in the Orobic Prealps, on the slopes of Mount Muggio, the Liquorificio Flora dei Monti was founded in 1966, laying the foundations for future alcoholic projects and experiments dedicated to craftsmanship, the culture of drinking well and the sustainability of raw materials and energy. These same values, after many years, continue to characterize our current productions.

One of our most loved recipes is that of London Dry Gin Porta di Prada N’1, handed down from generation to generation. This distillate, with strong but soft flavours, captures the aromas and flavors of Grigna, Grignetta, Monte Muggio, Pizzo dei Tre Signori, Legnone and Legnoncino, immersed in the waters of Lake Como.

Spiriti delle Montagne was born in June 2024 and did so by presenting a gin that tastes of the territory both for its different labels, 8 at the moment, which represent places between Lake Como and Valsassina, and for the choice to pay homage to customers with a lanyard climbing and a key ring carabiner, available in 6 colours, from C.A.M.P. world leading company for mountaineering equipment based in Premana in Valsassina.

Distilled in the province of Lecco, along the banks of the Adda River, Gin Prada N’1 represents an excellence of Valsassina. It is the first distillate to obtain the official “Lake Como” logo thanks to the use of high quality local raw materials. Among these, Rhododendron Honey from Alto Lario, which only grows above 1500 metres, and the pure water that flows in Alta Valsassina at 1935 meters above sea level. The C.A.M.P. lanyard and key ring. of Premana Valsassina complete this product, which stands out for its uniqueness, suspended between the lake and the mountains.

The name of the Gin is a tribute to the splendid natural wonder: the Porta di Prada. This impressive arched structure, 15 meters high, was formed approximately 230 million years ago through erosion. Located on the Northern Grigna at an altitude of 1650 metres, it rises majestically overlooking the lake.

Il GIn Porta di Prada N1 si presenta con un packaging unico in assoluto mai visto, soprattutto per la scelta di collaborare con la C.A.M.P. celebre azienda italiana leader nel mondo dell’alpinismo per legare al collo della bottiglia una corda d’arrampicata e un moschettone Made in Italy, un plus per gli amanti della montagna e non solo.

Le 8 etichette presentano altrettanti scorci paesaggistici con le montagne del territorio, il logo realizzato in rame metallizzato ben si sposa con i colori delle foto e restituisce alla bottiglia un tocco finale di rustico molto apprezzato.

Ok ma il contenuto? Questo gin va giù liscio già da solo, e cosa davvero rara, si sentono tutte le botaniche presenti nel bouquet; combinato con praticamente qualsiasi tonica è notevole e la scelta sta tutta nel volerlo più amabile o più secco.

Ok but what about the content? This gin goes down smoothly on its own, and what is truly rare, you can feel all the botanicals present in the bouquet; combined with practically any tonic it is remarkable and the choice is all about wanting it sweeter or drier.

Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?

Abbiamo provato questo gin con diverse toniche, questo gin si è comportato molto bene con tutte le toniche con cui è stato abbinato, in base al palato.

Per chi piace sentir in risalto la nota dolce del miele e della lavanda lo può abbinare ad una Indian, in particolar modo alla Imperdibile Indian tonic, mentre per chi desidera assaporare le varie botaniche in egual modo può abbinarla ad una tonica neutra come l’Acqua brillante della Recoaro.

Per chi desidera assaporare più le note floreali come la lavanda e la rosa canina, abbinate alle note dolci del miele di Rododendro può abbinarlo alla Fever Tree Mediterranea.

In conclusione il Gin Porta di Prada è ottimo da gustarselo con svariate toniche, tanto da creare sempre un ottimo Gin Tonic fresco e piacevole da bersi in compagnia.

We tried this gin with different tonics, this gin performed very well with all the tonics it was paired with, depending on the palate.

For those who like to feel the sweet note of honey and lavender highlighted, they can combine it with an Indian, especially the unmissable Indian tonic, while for those who want to savor the various botanicals in the same way, they can combine it with a neutral tonic such as Water brilliant from Recoaro.

For those who want to savor more floral notes such as lavender and dog rose, combined with the sweet notes of Rhododendron honey, they can combine it with Mediterranean Fever Tree.

In conclusion, Porta di Prada Gin is excellent to enjoy with various tonics, so much so that it always creates an excellent fresh and pleasant Gin Tonic to drink in company.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Ci piacciono in particolar modo le varie etichette, otto per la precisione, tutte rappresentanti scatti della Valsassina, in particolar modo della Porta di Prada da cui prende il nome il gin e ci piace l’idea del moschettone legato al collo della bottiglia.

Ci piace il profumo che rilascia appena aperta la bottiglia, al naso arriva subito la nota agrumata del bergamotto e le note balsamiche dei due ginepri con cui è prodotto il gin, con un finale floreale della lavanda e dolciastro del miele di Rododendro.

Ci piace bevuto liscio in quanto al palato arriva subito la nota balsamica del ginepro abbinala alla nota agrumata del bergamotto, seguito dalle note floreali aspre della rosa canina e dolciastre della lavanda che legano le varie botaniche, in particolar modo con la nota dolce del miele di Rododendro.

Consigliamo di bere anche liscio questo gin, in quanto ha un gusto ben bilanciato e piacevole al palato, sia con un cubetto di ghiaccio che liscio accompagnato al pasto.

We particularly like the various labels, eight to be precise, all representing shots of Valsassina, especially the Porta di Prada from which the gin takes its name and we like the idea of the carabiner tied to the neck of the bottle.

We like the scent that it releases as soon as the bottle is opened, the citrus note of the bergamot and the balsamic notes of the two junipers with which the gin is produced immediately arrive on the nose, with a floral finish of the lavender and sweetish of the Rhododendron honey.

We like it drunk neat as the balsamic note of the juniper immediately arrives on the palate, combined with the citrus note of the bergamot, followed by the sour floral notes of the dog rose and the sweetish notes of the lavender which bind the various botanicals, in particular with the sweet note of the honey Rhododendron.

We recommend drinking this gin neat as well, as it has a well-balanced and pleasant taste on the palate, whether with an ice cube or neat with a meal.
