Bekerton London Dry Gin è un distillato purissimo prodotto secondo il gusto di Harry J. Bekerton, che fu master distiller in alcune delle più importanti distillerie di gin, prima nel nord-est dell’Inghilterra, nell’area tra Liverpool e Manchester e poi a Londra.

Egli definì la ricetta del London Dry perfetto agli inizi del ‘900, un distillato prodotto con acqua purissima e 17 botanici di pregio dosati nelle giuste proporzioni, tra questi: Ginepro, cardamomo, coriandolo, cumino, angelica e zenzero.

Oggi, questa preziosa ricetta torna sul mercato con il nome di Bekerton in onore di Mr. Harry J., in una bottiglia che si presta benissimo all’utilizzo in mescita, con tappo a vite con dettagli in oro, e un look che con la doppia etichetta risulta essere classico ed elegante.

Aspetto: trasparente e luminoso

Aroma: elegante, con delicate note di ginepro. Avvolgente e fresco.

Sapore: le bacche selvatiche e il ginepro ne caratterizzano il sapore fine e leggermente pungente.

Sensazione alla deglutizione: forte e morbido allo stesso tempo, persistente e piacevolmente balsamico.

Bekerton London Dry Gin is a very pure distillate produced according to the taste of Harry J. Bekerton, who was master distiller in some of the most important gin distilleries, first in the north-east of England, in the area between Liverpool and Manchester and then in London.

He defined the recipe for the perfect London Dry at the beginning of the 20th century, a distillate produced with pure water and 17 valuable botanicals dosed in the right proportions, including: juniper, cardamom, coriander, cumin, angelica and ginger.

Today, this precious recipe returns to the market with the name of Bekerton in honor of Mr. Harry J., in a bottle that lends itself very well to being used by the glass, with a screw cap with gold details, and a look that with double label appears to be classic and elegant.

Appearance: transparent and bright

Aroma: elegant, with delicate notes of juniper. Enveloping and fresh.

Flavour: wild berries and juniper characterize its fine and slightly pungent flavour.

Swallowing sensation: strong and soft at the same time, persistent and pleasantly balsamic.

Un classico London Dry si ma ricco di botaniche soprattutto speziate, perfetto per le miscelazioni e per ottimi gin-tonic.

Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?

Abbiamo provato questo gin con varie toniche, quella che ha bilanciato meglio il gin è la Fever Tree Mediterranea, permette di assaporare al meglio le varie botaniche tra cui a primo impatto il cumino e lo zenzero ben bilanciati dall’angelica che le lega al cardamomo e al coriandolo, permette di assaporare un gin tonic ben bilanciato nei sapori, molto dissetante.

Per chi preferisce avere al palato una nota un pò più amarognola, può provare gusto gin con la J. Gasco Indian tonic, in quanto risalta di più le note amare delle botaniche, in particolar modo l’angelica e la nota speziata dello zenzero.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Ci piace in particolar modo l’etichetta presente sulla bottiglia, in quanto guardando attraverso l’apertura centrale è possibile vedere una riproduzione della copertina di un’opera cara a Ferdinando De Cinque.
Ci piace il profumo che emana appena aperta la bottiglia, al naso arriva subito la nota balsamica data dal pino mugo e dalla menta seguita poi dalla nota floreale ed erbacea della lavanda e rosmarino.
Ci piace bevuto liscio, in quanto al palato arrivano subito le note balsamica del pino mugo e della menta, con le note floreali della rosa e lavanda che bilanciano le varie botaniche, in particolar modo con la nota erbacea del rosmarino e del timo con la salvia che ricopre la lingua. Un gin davvero ottimo da gustarsi liscio dopo pasto con o senza ghiaccio.

A truly excellent gin to be enjoyed neat after a meal with or without ice.
