Nasce Helba: London Dry Gin artigianale dal cuore dell’Isola d’Elba.

La tecnica di distillazione è una classica London Dry che permette a mirto, ginepro, coriandolo, mentuccia selvatica, liquirizia, castagne e alghe di evocare le emozioni dell’isola in ogni sorso. L’alcol utilizzato proviene interamente da grano tenero biologico certificato.

The water that flows from the heart of Elba meets the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, blends with the flavors of the hinterland and dives into the freshness of the sea to give life to a unique and precious Gin.

Helba is born: artisanal London Dry Gin from the heart of the Island of Elba.

The distillation technique is a classic London Dry which allows myrtle, juniper, coriander, wild pennyroyal, liquorice, chestnuts and seaweed to evoke the emotions of the island in every sip. The alcohol used comes entirely from certified organic soft wheat.

Appena presa in mano la bottiglia ci è piaciuto subito sia la realizzazione del logo che del colore ma è stappandola che ci ha convinto da subito, Helba Gin rispetta le premesse, sa di mare e sembra di starci decisamente in mezzo proprio come su un isola. Un gin di quelli che difficilmente ti stancano e che andresti avanti a berlo sia liscio che con una bella tonica neutra.

As soon as we picked up the bottle we immediately liked both the creation of the logo and the color but it was when we uncorked it that we were immediately convinced, Helba Gin respects the premises, it tastes of the sea and it seems to be definitely in the middle of it just like on an island. A gin of those that hardly tire you and that you would continue to drink either neat or with a nice neutral tonic.

Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?

Abbiamo provato questo gin con varie toniche, quella che bilanciato meglio tutte le botaniche è la Vèrays Tonic, la quale risalta inizialmente la nota dolce della castagna che accompagna le note balsamiche della menta e del mirto in modo che si leghino al meglio con la sapidità data dall’alga e dalla nota amarognola della liquirizia, con un finale leggermente speziato del coriandolo.

We tried this gin with various tonics, the one that best balanced all the botanicals is the Vèrays Tonic, which initially highlights the sweet note of the chestnut which accompanies the balsamic notes of mint and myrtle so that they bind best with the given flavor from the seaweed and the bitter note of liquorice, with a slightly spicy finish from coriander.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Ci piace la bottiglia, con il suo color verde mare e il disegno sull’etichetta che assomiglia ad un cuore fatto con scogli, e fauna marina.
Ci piace il profumo che arriva al naso appena aperta la bottiglia, si possono distinguere subito le note erbacee date dal mirto e dalla menta selvatica, seguito da una nota salmastra data dall’alga con una leggera nota speziata del coriandolo.
Ci piace bevuto liscio, al palato arriva subito la nota fresca del ginepro e della menta selvatica, con la nota dolciastra della castagna che fa da collante con la sapidità dell’alga e la nota amarognola della liquirizia de per finire del mirto.

We like the bottle, with its sea green color and the design on the label that resembles a heart made of rocks and marine fauna.
We like the scent that reaches the nose as soon as the bottle is opened, you can immediately distinguish the herbaceous notes given by myrtle and wild mint, followed by a brackish note given by the seaweed with a light spicy note of coriander.
We like it drunk neat, the fresh note of juniper and wild mint immediately arrives on the palate, with the sweetish note of the chestnut which acts as a glue with the flavor of the seaweed and the bitter note of the licorice and finally the myrtle.
