Una bibita classica e antica resa speciale dalla presenza del Chinino, estratto dalla corteccia dell’albero di china, pianta di origine Sud Americana. Si contano fino a 40 specie di china che vanno dai piccoli arbusti sempreverdi ad alberi ad alto fusto.

E’ uno dei prodotti relativamente più recenti dell’azienda Paoletti. Il gusto derivante dall’estratto di China rende la bibita adattissima all’uso estivo come dissetante con la classica fettina di limone.
Grazie ad alcune sue peculiari caratteristiche rappresenta la prima scelta per alcuni importanti bartender nella preparazione del Gin Tonic. Di recente è stata selezionata tra le prime 15 acque toniche d’Europa in un classico assaggio al buio realizzato dal Gambero Rosso.

A classic and ancient drink made special by the presence of Quinine, extracted from the bark of the cinchona tree, a plant of South American origin. There are up to 40 species of cinchona ranging from small evergreen shrubs to tall trees.

It is one of the relatively more recent products of the Paoletti company. The taste deriving from the Cinchona extract makes the drink very suitable for summer use as a thirst quencher with the classic slice of lemon.
Thanks to some of its peculiar characteristics, it represents the first choice for some important bartenders in the preparation of Gin Tonic. It was recently selected among the top 15 tonic waters in Europe in a classic blind tasting organized by Gambero Rosso.

Passato il secolo di storia di questa mitica etichetta marchigiana siamo riusciti a provare anche la tonica, non sono tanti anni che è in produzione ma ha saputo raggiungere il livello delle altre bibite prodotte dallo storico marchio Paolini, una tonica dolce ma non troppo con una bolla persistente che abbiamo potuto ben abbinare a gin particolari, mai facili.

After the century of history of this legendary Marche label has passed, we also managed to try the tonic, it hasn’t been in production for many years but it has managed to reach the level of the other drinks produced by the historic Paolini brand, a sweet tonic but not too much with a bubble persistent that we were able to pair well with particular gins, that were never easy.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Innanzitutto il formato che permette a veri appassionati quali noi siamo di tirare fuori due gin tonic completi con una singola bottiglia! Poi il fatto di essere una tonica dolce, non secca, ma con una punta di amarognolo che riesce ad equilibrare il sapore al palato e, soprattutto nel nostro caso, mixata con quei gin Made in Italy che chiedono si dolcezza ma anche un pò di tono.
