Noi siamo veri patiti di montagna e trekking e quando beviamo gin che richiamano i profumi dei boschi come questo Gin Sul Serio siamo felici e si perde facilmente il numero dei gin tonic, certo una bella sfida abbinare toniche che non coprano troppo le botaniche o che ci facciano a cazzotti, ma per ogni gin c’è il suo abbinamento, sempre!

We are true mountain and trekking enthusiasts and when we drink gin that recall the scents of the woods like this Gin Sul Serio we are happy and the number of gin and tonics is easily lost, it is certainly a great challenge to combine tonics that do not cover the botanicals too much or that they fight, but for every gin there is its own pairing, always!

Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?

Abbiamo provato questo gin con varie toniche, quella che ha bilanciato meglio i sapori delle varie botaniche è la San Pellegrino Rovere, al palato si riescono a sentire una dietro l’altra le note amare e secche date dalla radice di tarassaco e foglia di castagna e angelica, e le note dolci date dalla castagna, ben bilanciate dalla nota balsamica del timo,insieme allo speziato del coriandolo e del ginepro.

We tried this gin with various tonics, the one that best balanced the flavors of the various botanicals was San Pellegrino Rovere, on the palate you can taste the bitter and dry notes given by the dandelion root and chestnut leaf one after the other and angelica, and the sweet notes given by the chestnut, well balanced by the balsamic note of the thyme, together with the spice of the coriander and the juniper.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Ci piace il profumo dolciastro dato dalla castagna seguita dall’amaro della radice di tarassaco poi da timo ed angelica, ci piace quel contrasto che da sul palato il gusto amarognolo della radice di tarassaco con la parte dolce della castagna e il secco della foglia di castagna e dell’angelica, il tutto ben legato dal balsamico dato dal timo e la punta speziata del coriandolo. Ottimo anche da bere liscio, o con un cubetto di ghiaccio, per chi ama sentire sul palato le note amare e dolci ben bilanciate.

Difetti davvero non ne troviamo.

We like the sweet scent given by the chestnut followed by the bitterness of the dandelion root then by thyme and angelica, we like that contrast that the bitter taste of the dandelion root gives on the palate with the sweet part of the chestnut and the dryness of the chestnut leaf and angelica, all well bound by the balsamic given by the thyme and the spicy hint of coriander. Also excellent to drink straight, or with an ice cube, for those who love to feel well-balanced bitter and sweet notes on the palate.

We really can’t find any faults.
