Lorenzo e Nicola di Varese hanno fondato il Laboratorio Lanotti e si presentano con due prodotti attualmente, il MEDIginE Maldamore e l’Apollon (vedi scheda MEDIginE).

Lorenzo ci racconta come sono arrivati a concepire questo gin: “Apollon nasce invece per caso, grazie all’incontro con un produttore di miele locale. L’assaggio del suo polline di castagno BIO ci ha stuzzicato l’immaginazione e in tempi record abbiamo ideato questa ricetta fresca e piacevole, perfetta per il classico gin&tonic estivo”.

Lorenzo and Nicola di Varese founded the Laboratorio Lanotti and currently present two products, the MEDIginE Maldamore and the Apollon (see MEDIginE file).

Lorenzo tells us how they came to conceive this gin: “Apollon was born instead by chance, thanks to a meeting with a local honey producer. The tasting of his BIO chestnut pollen tickled our imagination and in record time we created this fresh and pleasant recipe, perfect for the classic summer gin & tonic”.

Secondo GinEcologY / ACCORDING TO GINECOLOGY

Appena aperta la bottiglia non eravamo sicuri di come potesse essere al palato questo gin ma una volta messo in bocca da solo ci è stata stata una vera esplosione di miele, un sapore rotondo che mitiga i ben 57%. Siamo curiosi di provarlo in Inverno certi che saprà stappare i nasi chiusi, e dunque usarlo anche lui come il MEDIginE l’altro prodotto del Laboratorio Lanotti, ovvero come un balsamo per curare mali ;).

As soon as we opened the bottle we weren’t sure how this gin could be on the palate but once it was put in the mouth on its own there was a real explosion of honey, a round flavor that mitigates the 57%. We are curious to try it in Winter certain that it will be able to uncork blocked noses, and therefore use it too like MEDIginE the other product of the Lanotti Laboratory, or rather as a balm to cure ailments ;).

Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?

Abbiamo testato il gin con diverse toniche, quella che ha messo meglio in risalto le varie botaniche è l’Acqua Brillante della Recoaro, mentre la Fever Tree Indian e la Fentimans Indian mettono in risalto il sapore amaro e leggermente aspro dato dalla Verbena.

We tested the gin with different tonics, the one that best highlighted the various botanicals is the Recoaro Brilliant Water, while the Fever Tree Indian and the Fentimans Indian bring out the bitter flavors of the botanicals more.

COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T

Ci piace l’equilibrio che viene dato dalle botaniche e abbinato all’acqua brillante, o comunque a una tonica neutra, si può gustare un’ottimo gin tonic dove di primo impatto si può sentire il sapore dolce, quasi mielato con un retrogusto leggermente amaro e aromatico dato dalla Verbena, il tutto ben legato dal sapore della camomilla. Piace anche la possibilità di gustare questo gin liscio nonostante abbia una gradazione elevata.

Difetti davvero non ne troviamo.

We like the balance that is given by botanicals and combined with sparkling water, or in any case with a neutral tonic, you can enjoy an excellent gin and tonic where at first glance you can feel the sweet, almost honeyed flavor with a slightly bitter aftertaste and aromatic given by Verbena, all well linked by the flavor of chamomile. We also like the possibility of enjoying this gin neat despite having a high alcohol content.

We really can’t find any faults.
