Lorenzo e Nicola di Varese hanno fondato il Laboratorio Lanotti e si presentano con due prodotti attualmente, il MEDIginE Maldamore e l’Apollon (vedi scheda Apollon).
Maldamore nasce intorno a 4 erbe utilizzate fresche nel processo di distillazione, una in particolare, la santoreggia, un’erba che nell’antichità era conosciuta ed utilizzata come afrodiasiaco.
Da qui l’idea di trasformare Maldamore in una vera e propria medicina (con ironia ovviamente) come rimedio alle pene d’amore, accompagnandolo con una bottiglia farmaceutica verde e delle grafiche che ricalcano un po’ quelle degli antichi preparati alle erbe, con tanto di posologia (vedi etichetta).

Maldamore was born around 4 herbs used fresh in the distillation process, one in particular, savory, a herb that in ancient times was known and used as an aphrodiasiac.
Hence the idea of transforming Maldamore into a real medicine (with irony of course) as a remedy for heartaches, accompanying it with a green pharmaceutical bottle and graphics that somewhat resemble those of the ancient herbal preparations, with lots of dosage (see label).

MEDIginE si presenta come un gin particolarmente profumato e intenso, sia a olfatto che palato sa restituire i sentori delle botaniche presenti, la santoreggia è il tocco in più che da carattere a questo gin e lo rende speciale.
MEDIginE looks like a particularly fragrant and intense gin, both on the nose and on the palate it can restore the scents of the botanicals present, the savory is the extra touch that gives this gin character and makes it special.
Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?
Abbiamo provato questo gin con tre tipi di toniche, quella che ha messo in risalto tutte le botaniche è l’Acqua Brillante della Recoaro la quale lascia nel palato un gusto speziato tendente al pepato ben bilanciato poi dalla melissa e il finocchietto.
We tried this gin with three types of tonics, the one that highlighted all the botanicals is the Acqua Brillante bu Recoaro which leaves a spicy taste tending towards peppery on the palate, well balanced by lemon balm and fennel.
COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T
Di questo gin ci piace il contrasto dato dal profumo intenso e tendente al dolce e il suo gusto balsamico dato dalla menta, dalla melissa, dal santoreggia e dal finocchietto, gusto che viene messo in risalto e bilanciato con una tonica neutra, mentre per chi ama sentir le note amare date dalla liquirizia e dal cardamomo può essere abbinata alla Fentimans Indian. Inoltre piace la possibilità di poterlo bere liscio in modo da poterne assaporare il suo gusto intenso.
Difetti davvero non ne troviamo.
We like the contrast of this gin given by the intense and sweetish aroma and its balsamic taste given by mint, lemon balm, santoreggia and fennel, a taste that is highlighted and balanced with a neutral tonic, while for those who love feel the bitter notes given by licorice and cardamom can be combined with Fentimans Indian. We also like the possibility of being able to drink it smooth so as to be able to savor its intense taste.
We really can’t find any faults.
