Il gin di Romagna nasce da un progetto di Marco Zavalloni e dalla sua ricerca sui vitigni di Albana l’unico vitigno autoctono di Romagna nonché dal 1987 prima DOCG per vini bianchi d’Italia, ecco quindi l’origine del nome di questo gin: Alba da Albana e 87 dall’anno della denominazione.
L’ingrediente che rende unico e speciale questo gin è l’infiorescenza di Albana che fiorisce solo per 3 giorni all’incirca verso la metà di Giugno, ecco quindi l’effimero.
Gin di Romagna was born from a project by Marco Zavalloni and his research on the vines of Albana, the only native vine of Romagna as well as the first DOCG for white wines in Italy since 1987, hence the origin of the name of this gin: Alba from Albana and 87 from the year of denomination.
The ingredient that makes this gin unique and special is the Albana inflorescence which blooms only for 3 days around mid-June, hence the ephemeral.

Una botanica naturale che fiorisce solo per 3 giorni all’anno in un determinato luogo e in un determinato periodo è da sé un elemento importantissimo per definire l’identità territoriale di un prodotto, ALBA 87 è un gin che rilascia a olfatto e gusto i sapori descritti da Marco il suo ideatore.
A natural botany that blooms only for 3 days a year in a certain place and in a certain period is in itself a very important element to define the territorial identity of a product, ALBA87 is a gin that releases the flavors described on the nose and taste by Marco its creator.
Quale acqua tonica usare? / wich tonic water?
Abbiamo provato questo gin molto particolare con tre toniche, e quella che ha amalgamato meglio tutte le botaniche è stata la Fever Tree Indian, grazie alla quale si possono gustare sia i sapori floreali che agrumati e dolci, l’Acqua Brillante Recoaro estrae le note più dolci mentre la Fentimans Light quelle più floreali.
We tried this very particular gin with three tonics, and the one that best amalgamated all the botanicals was the Fever Tree Indian, thanks to which you can taste both floral and citrus and sweet flavors, the Acqua Brillante Recoaro extracts the sweetest notes while the Fentimans Light the more floral ones.
COSA CI PIACE E COSA NO / WHAT WE LIKE AND WHAT WE DON’T
Questo gin è molto particolare, presenta molte botaniche segrete, ma quella base per quest’ottimo gin è l’infiorescenza di albana, piace il profumo che rilascia inizialmente si possono sentire le note floreali seguite successivamente dalla parte agrumata e dal ginepro, questo ben contrastato poi dal gusto dato dalla parte floreale seguita a ruota dalla parte agrumata finendo per le note secche. Abbinato alla Indian della Fever Tree si possono ben distinguere tutte e tre le note, mentre per chi ama metter in risalto le note floreali può abbinarla alla San Pellegrino Rovere, mentre per chi ama sentir meglio la parte agrumata e amarognola la si può abbinare alla Indian della Fentimans.
Difetti davvero non ne troviamo.
This gin is very particular, it has many secret botanicals, but the basis for this excellent gin is the inflorescence of albana, the scent it initially releases, you can feel the floral notes followed later by the citrus and juniper part, this well contrasted then by the taste given by the floral part closely followed by the citrus part ending up with the dry notes. Combined with the Fever Tree Indian, all three notes can be clearly distinguished, while for those who like to highlight the floral notes it can be combined with San Pellegrino Rovere, while for those who like to feel the citrus and bitter part better, it can be combined with the Indian of Fentimans.
We really can’t find any faults.
